How will Unlock 1.0 happen in Karnataka from June 8?
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued Unlock 1.0 exit plan from lockdown from June 8. With Karnataka looking forward to implementing unlock measures from June 8, the state has provided its own guidelines to be followed by the public. According to the MHA, Chief Secretary T M Vijay Bhaskar issued an order which will come into effect from June 8 till June 30, 2020. Only essential activities will be allowed in the containment zones until June 30. In the first phase, the non-containment zones, shopping malls, religious places, restaurants, hotels, and other hospitality services will be allowed to re-open from June 8 onwards. However, other services like metro, gyms, international travel, bars, assembly places, movie theatres will not open. The district and municipal authorities have been asked to recognize the buffer zones soon outside the containment zones. In phase III, decisions on all such things will be taken after the assessment of the coronavirus situation. Further, the night curfew timings will be from 9 pm to 5 am except for containment zones. Apart from takeaway and home delivery facilities, restaurants and dining places can function post-June 8. The State government has requested those above 65 years of age, pregnant ladies and children below the age group of 12 years to not step out of home, apart from a necessary situation or health emergency. Also, separate rules have been made for people coming from other states. The decision to open educational institutions will be taken after discussing with the stakeholders in July. However, there are no restrictions in the inter-state movement of persons and goods.
